Submission Guidelines for the SCC Web Site
We are always open to suggestions for additions to the web site. We would ask that you direct all such inquiries to the current Webmaster, Angela Ledger.
This is your web site, and in an effort to facilitate adding information to the committee (and other) pages, we ask that the following Submission Guidelines be followed:
Submissions for committee pages should come from the respective committee chairs. Submissions can include: updates to committee rosters, requests for hypertext links, news of current projects, etc.
If a chair makes a request which is going to be a lengthy, work-intensive project, we may assign a Communications Committee member as a "liaison" to that committee. This will enable us to oversee all the facets of a given project.
While we can add text from any print source (by typing it all in by hand), it speeds up the process dramatically to work from ASCII text. Similarly, graphics can be edited and added more easily if they are in GIF or JPEG format. If you are unfamiliar with these formats, let us know. Most word processors can "Save as..." ASCII, and most graphic programs can likewise export as GIF or JPEG.
The Webmaster primarily works in the role of "editor," not "content-builder." We can only add material which is provided to us. We also reserve the right to edit all submissions for space and appearance. The overall look & feel and organization of the web site is the responsibility of the Webmaster and the Communications Committee.
Rule of thumb: If you think it would be a good idea, submit it! If there is some reason it cannot be done, we'll tell you.
