The SCC/MLA Continuing Education Committee is pleased to offer (two or three?) continuing education (CE) classes for the 2022 SCC/MLA Meeting.
Registration for these classes will be handled through the meeting registration, which opens August 5, 2022.
Wellness in the Library Workplace (Virtual)In this 2-hour class participants will explore the aspects of a healthy workplace including physical, mental, and emotional components. The class will look at the benefits of having a healthy working environment and why it matters to you, to the library, and to your community. Participants will discuss what does and does not make a healthy working environment. Learn about and explore changes you can make at an individual level to improve workplace health and wellness. Lastly, discuss changes that could and should be made at the team and organizational levels to improve workplace health and wellness for everyone.
Learning to Teach: Voices from the Field (In-Person Only)Learning to Teach: Voices from the Field is an in-person symposium taking place on location during the SCC/MLA annual meeting. During the symposium, five panels will lead conversations about library instruction in clinical, outreach, and liaison environments. In addition, panels will discuss collaborative models for instruction, as well as how new librarians can meet teaching challenges. The symposium will emphasize practical considerations and conversation/activities with attendees.
