Here is a teaser of some of these downright affordable mementos to display and/or take home:
Lanyards
There is an “Arkansas Woman” (surely the title to a lively country song) who contributed 30 to 50 of her handmade lanyards out of various fabrics the last two years. Look for these one-of-a-kind pieces at the FRC Table. They’re great for your campus, school, or hospital I.D., and fitting for showing off that SCC conference badge in style. Last year was a celebration of cat-lovers. We have our fingers crossed for some hound dog representation this year, so stay tuned!
Mystery Bags
Jennifer Lloyd brought us the Mystery Bags concept last year filled with all sorts of trinkets from stickers to lip balm to Mardi Gras throws. Libby Black has donated Muses bling from the Krewe of Muses as one version of this year’s Mystery Bags. Need inspiration? Best to pick up a Muse before they disappear.
How to Make an American (or SCC/MLA) Quilt
First, get some enthusiastic quilters organized by one of the SCC Quilting Queens, Sara Ann Stinson. Second, pick a theme like this year’s: Fall. You don’t have to enter a quilting bee to get this treasured stitched item created by SCC members to keep warm at night. Buy your tickets for the drawing. One lucky winner will be announced at the Business Meeting Tuesday morning, October 20.
Laptop Stickers Supporting the LAC
Okay, at a price point everyone will love, y’all will want to put these on more than a laptop, but these limited run stickers featuring the LAC’s adorable postage stamp theme and maybe a few other Cowtown classics will show your SCC Armadillo Pride anywhere you go. Proceeds for these little darlins’ will help defray some of the annual meeting expenses.
Donated items will be on display at the Fund Raising tables near the Registration area during the 2026 meeting. The auction itself will be hosted online through Galabid, with a photo and description of each item so bidders can easily join the action.

A Special Ask
For those who are able, we are especially looking for a few high-quality and higher-value items to help boost our fundraising totals. This is a great opportunity for library directors and administrators to participate in SCC fundraising.
