Planning is well underway for the 35th annual meeting of SCC/MLA, which will take place October 20-24, 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town.
The presenters and sessions will use the meeting’s theme – Re-imagining our libraries and our lives – as a starting point for the program and events.
The conference hotel is within easy walking distance of historic Old Town, the museum district, a variety of restaurants, entertainment spots, art galleries, shopping, and historic districts.
Further afield are many other natural and historic attractions – the Sandia Mountains, Petroglyph National Monument, the tram to the 10,378 ft. elevation of Sandia Crest, the National Hispanic Cultural Center, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, the Rio Grande Botanic Gardens, the Albuquerque Aquarium, and the Rio Grande Zoo, to name a few.
Our video invitation to Albuquerque – The Library on the Edge of Forever [link opens movie in your preferred media viewer] – was presented at the 2006 Annual Meeting Business Lunch and is available for your viewing pleasure.
Please accept our invitation and plan to join us and your colleagues in the Land of Enchantment next October.
We invite you to exhibit with us. The schedule is designed to enhance your time with conference attendees. Opportunities are available for your company to sponsor events or portions of events, with your company name listed in the conference program and prominently displayed during the event. Sponsorship by our vendors is an important source of support for our chapter and is greatly appreciated by our members.
