What is SCC In-Service?
SCC In-Service is a free, virtual, peer-led training series hosted by the SCC/MLA Continuing Education Committee, designed to create space for learning outside of the annual conference. Sessions are not recorded, allowing for a more open, low-pressure environment where participants can engage, ask questions, and share ideas. A few sessions will be offered each year with topics coordinated by the committee. This series is built on the idea that everyone has something to teach. Whether you’re an early-career librarian looking to build presentation experience in a supportive setting, or a seasoned professional wanting to workshop an idea before submitting it elsewhere, SCC In-Service offers a platform to share knowledge and learn from colleagues.
Acknowledgements
We'd like to express our gratitude to Jennifer Lloyd for spearheading this idea to increase community and knowledge sharing among the chapter, as well as her work to coordinate the first few presentations. Many thanks to Molly and Stewart for their time and willingness to kick off the series!
