Lt. Col. Dave Grossman (Ret), a nationally recognized expert on active shooter, will be presenting strategies and preparedness considerations for active shooter incidents to area librarians, hospital and EMS managers and law enforcement. Col. Grossman is a former West Point psychology professor, Professor of Military Science, and an Army Ranger who has combined his experiences to become the founder of a new field of scientific endeavor which has been termed "killology." The symposium will better prepare librarians, their response colleagues and communities.

A Mock Scenario Discussion for Librarians will be held on the same day (March 4, 2016) from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at NSU Shreveport Library, 1800 Line Ave, Shreveport, LA 71101 (map). Free parking is available on Elizabeth Ave.
